This plein air study focuses on the rocky edge where land meets water, a moment of stillness before movement. The reflections of the island ripple across the surface, interrupted by the glimmer of sky above.

Exploring how light shifts between the jagged rocks and soft water, this piece laid the groundwork for my larger studio painting, Alizarin Deception.
