Whytecliff Study
Oil on board

This plein air study focuses on the shifting interplay of light and shadow along the shoreline, framed by a dense, textured treeline. Created as a preliminary exploration for Alizarin Deception, it helped me map the dynamic movement between the far treeline, the shoreline water, and the reflective interplay of light on the water’s surface.
The vibrant greens of the water contrast with the muted, earthy tones of the rocks and trees, emphasizing the energy of the natural elements in this moody coastal scene. ٌ
