Swallowed
Oil on panel
9 x 12 inches
In Swallowed, I wanted to capture the feeling of being fully immersed in the dense layers of vegetation around me. The varied brushstrokes reflect the diversity of leaves, from broad and waxy to soft and shadowed. This approach draws from the tradition of painters like Corot & Monet, who often explored the overwhelming presence of nature, letting viewers feel as though they’ve stepped directly into the scene.
