In this plein air oil on board, I studied how light interacts with changing autumn leaves. The tonal gradients and shifting shades of greens and yellows on the tall trees in my old Vancouver neighborhood were the focus of this piece.

I also experimented with thicker, broken brushstrokes to combine different paint colors without blending.
